The DMV Spread - Winter 2011

TALKING ON THE CELL PHONE?
BEWARE !

Officials at the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) have announced that the Department will impose two points on the driving record of those found guilty of driving while using a cell phone. Whether it be a text or talking, the new regulation applies to both violations.

Distracted driving is a major contributing factor to many highway accidents and unfortuanately many have been fatalities. This new regulation will strengthen our current cell phone law and hopefully motorists will become even more aware of the consequences of using a cell phone while driving. Remember we are all on the road to get to a destination safely.
