Household Hazardous Waste Collection
What is Household Hazardous Waste?It is any waste produced in the home, which is flammable, toxic, corrosive or reactive. It includes paint products, pesticides and herbicides, hobby chemicals, automotive fluids and cleaning products.
Who Can Participate?Any resident of Genesee, Livingston, or Wyoming Counties. How Can I Participate?Materials are accepted by appointment at GLOW’s annual collection. You may call the GLOW Office to have your name placed on our notification list. We will then notify you by postcard in 2 months prior to the collections that it is time to register. The 2011 Collection in Mt. Morrisbegin being tentatively scheduled for September 17. (Pending receipt of a state grant) Two weeks before the collection you will be sent a packet of information that includes an admittance ticket, directions to the site, safety information and the list of acceptable and unacceptable materials. You must bring your admittance ticket to the collection to give to an attendant.
