Legal Services for the Elderly Program

The Genesee County Office for the Aging offers consultations with a legal advisor on issues such as:

• Medicaid eligibility
• Planning in the event of chronic care
• Preparing living wills and health care proxies
• Assigning a power of attorney
• Landlord/Tenant Disputes
• Consumer Problems

The types of assistance available are based on the criteria established in the Federal Older American's Act.

Legal advisors from Catholic Family Services of Rochester are available for appointments the 1^st and 3^rd Thursdays of each month. To schedule an appointment, please contact the Genesee County Office for the Aging at (585) 343-1611.

Legal Aide

Oak Orchard Legal Services, located at 5073 Clinton Street Road in Batavia, offers legal service to clients with income at the poverty level or below. Priority is given to eligibility and fair hearings for Medicaid, SSI, public assistance and food stamps.
