What is Household Hazardous Waste?
It is any waste produced in the home, which is flammable, toxic, corrosive or reactive. It includes paint products, pesticides and herbicides, hobby chemicals, automotive fluids and cleaning products.
Who Can Participate?
Any resident of Genesee, Livingston, or Wyoming Counties.
How Can I Participate?
Materials are accepted by appointment at GLOW’s annual collection in mid May. You may call the GLOW Office to have your name placed on our notification list. We will then notify you by postcard in mid March that it is time to register. Appointments for the 2010 Collection in Batavia begin being taken March 15 for the May 15 event.
Two weeks before the collection you will be sent a packet of information that includes an admittance ticket, directions to the site, safety information and the list of acceptable and unacceptable materials. You must bring your admittance ticket to the collection to give to an attendant.
