The Genesee County Nursing Home Child Care Center is owned and operated by the County of Genesee, and is licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services as a not-for-profit child care center serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age.
The Genesee County Nursing Home Child Care Center is a high quality childhood program that provides a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children.
The center is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and offers four levels of development for early care and learning:
| Infants: | 6 weeks to 18 months |
| Toddlers: | 18 months to 36 months |
| Preschool: | 3 to 4 years |
| Pre-K: | 4 to 5 years |
Each program is developmentally based and offers a wide variety of age appropriate hands on learning materials and activities. Stimulating surroundings and activities encourage all stages of development.
Intergenerational activities that are mutually enjoyable and beneficial to Nursing Facility residents and the children are an integral part of daily programming. Such activities may include; arts and crafts, sing-a-longs, story time, exercise/movement, etc.
