As we prepare our schedule for training opportunities, we want to hear what you are interested in. Do you want to attend a Planned Unit Development training session or would you rather learn what your role and duty is as a planning or zoning board member? These are just some examples of training that can be conducted. Land Use Decision-Making Training Program
The Monroe County Department of Planning and Development Land Use Decision-Making Training Program is designed especially for new and returning municipal board members; each workshop earns members of planning boards and zoning boards of appeals 2.5 credit hours toward their four-hour annual training requirement. The program is also of value to municipal officials and staff, agency personnel, planners, attorneys, architects, developers, engineers, landscape architects, surveyors and citizens.

3. Tues. March 23: Introduction to Land Use Law, Part 1
4. Weds. March 31: Introduction to Land Use Law, Part 2
5. Tues. April 6: Transportation Considerations
6. Tues. April 13: Reviewing Site Plans
7. Tues. April 20: Economic Basis for Sustainable Development
8. Tues. April 27: Introduction to the NYS Environmental Quality Review Act
Dinner and registration begin at 5:30 p.m. and the workshop runs from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Municipal board members: 2.5 hours for each workshop.
Assessors: 2.0 hours for each workshop (pending)
Attorneys: 2.0 CLE credits for SEQR and Land Use Law workshops
Professional Engineers, Architects & Surveyors: 2.0 PDHs for each workshop (pending)
CERTIFICATES
At the end of the program, each person receives a certificate of participation indicating which workshops they attended. Individualized certificates are also given as required by some licensing agencies.
LOCATION
The Program is held at Monroe Community College, R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center (Building 3). The campus can be accessed from either E. Henrietta Road (NYS Rt. 15A) or Brighton-Henrietta Town Line Road. The Campus Center is located on the east, or “back” side of the campus; it is a large building west of parking lot M. There are two entrances into the Campus Center; for your convenience, please use the north entrance. Looking from the parking lot, your entrance to the North Lobby will be on your right. Detailed location and parking information will be provided with registration confirmation.
