Copies of records may be requested by contacting the Genesee County Sheriff's Office Records Section, 165 Park Road, Batavia, New York 14020, (585) 345-3000, Ext. 3560.

If you wish the release of a copy of your records pertaining to your background, an "Authorization for Release of Information" form must be completed. Keep in mind this background check is only for records on file at the Genesee County Sheriff's Office.

If you wish to request a copy of records under the Freedom of Information Act, an "Application for Public Access to Records" must be completed. The records access officer will review your request and you will be contacted usually within five business days. Copies of records release pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act are at a cost of .25 cents per page.
