Article 16 of the Agriculture and Markets Law mandates that there shall be a director of Weights and Measures in each county. The primary duties shall be to administer, supervise and enforce, either personally or through his authorized agents, the provisions of this article and the rules and regulations adopted pursuant thereto. Those who benefit from these programs are the consumer public as well as the merchants who are regulated.
Our mission is to provide the most efficient, practical and cost effective approach to the achievement of weights and measures law compliance possible. The end result of which shall be that equity shall prevail to the degree that is possible utilizing current technology.
