The Facilities Management Department is responsible for the management of all county facilities to insure that county departments can operate in facilities that are properly maintained, clean and safe for county employees and the general public. This department is responsible for the maintenance and operational condition of 15 buildings totaling 244,405 square feet and provides maintenance, renovation, new construction, upkeep of electrical, plumbing, heating/ventilation systems, grounds keeping and overall janitorial cleaning services to these facilities. This department also does the planning and space utilization studies in conjunction with expansion or relocating county departments, providing space for new programs and services. It also provides energy utilization analysis to insure utilization and occupancy of county facilities by departments are done in the most cost effective manner.


The overall mission of the Facilities Management Department is to service all the other departments within Genesee County to the best of our ability; to provide a safe and comfortable environment for employees, tenants and the general public to work and visit, in the most economical and cost effective manner.
