GAHWNY.ORG Government Appointed Historians of Western New York - This site includes Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Niagara, Ontario, Orleans and Wyoming Counties. A current list of the County and Municipal Historians, information about the organization, updates on the two annual meetings (which are open to the public) and other helpful information is accessible from this site.
Archives.nysed.gov The New York State Archives provides access to historical and state-specific records as well as an online catalog. The site also includes information on how to access records digitized by Ancestry.com. Familysearch.org Is a free family history and genealogy records site that includes hundreds of collections – including birth, marriage, death, probate, land and military.
Batavialibrary.org The Richmond Memorial Library located in Batavia, NY has a website that includes access to local history sites. Included are newspapers, passenger/immigration, vital statistics, cemeteries, census, Genesee County, Western New York and New York State.
