Park Attendant

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Employees in this class engage in activities relating to the prevention of unauthorized use of Park facilities, and the abuse thereof.  Incidents requiring Police action are reported to the Sheriff’s Department for disposition.  Does related work as required.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
Patrols the Park grounds, checking on orderliness of visitors, an compliance with Park
     regulations;
Makes suggestions to visitors on behavior modification, when warranted;
Checks admission and permission slips;
Offers helpful advice to visitors;
Notifies appropriate authorities of violations requiring action beyond that which employee is
     empowered to perform;
During periods of low visitor usage, employee performs various manual labor tasks;

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
