DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY HEALTH SERVICES.  Full time position available.  The Orleans County Health Department is seeking a well-qualified, energetic individual with excellent organizational skills and interest in improving and maintaining the Public’s Health.  Re-sponsibilities include but are not limited to: planning, managing and coordinating health services governed under New York State Articles 28 and 36.

This position is responsible for planning and organizing health-related programs for two county health departments.  This position is integrally involved in a cutting edge Shared Services Project with the Genesee County Health Department.  The Project’s purpose is to investigate the feasibility of providing sharing of some services between Genesee and Orleans Counties. Activities include, but are not limited to, working with Nursing and Department Staff in a team-oriented environment, program and fiscal management, working with divisional budgets and quality control.

Minimum Qualifications:

            Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or University with a Master’s Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Health Services Administration or related field and possession of a current valid license and registration issued by the New York State Education Department to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse; plus two (2) years of Community health care administrative or management experience in a federal, state or local agency or in a Diagnostic and Treatment Center or clinic which shall have been in a supervisory capacity;

OR

Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Health Services Administration or related field and possession of a current valid license and registration issued by the New York State Education Department to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse; plus three (3) years of community health care administrative OR management experience in a federal, state or local agency or in a Diagnostic and Treatment Center or clinic which shall have been in a supervisory capacity. 

Special Requirements:  Possession of a current, valid New York State Motor Vehicle Drivers License at the time of appointment.
