**Per Executive Order, the April 28th Presidential Primary and NY-27 CD Special Election has been moved to June 23, 2020** 

**For the June 23, 2020 Election ONLY, the polling location at 400 Towers (Ward 6 Dist. 2) will vote at Ascension Parish, 15 Sumner St., Batavia.**

**ABSENTEE DIRECTIVE FOR JUNE 23, 2020 ELECTION**

Our office will have a Ballot Marking Device available in this office at 15 Main
St., Batavia NY 14020 for any of our voters with disabilities to vote absentee
at our office beginning May 27, 2020.  Please call our office at 585-815-7804 to schedule an appointment.

In the next few days all registered voters will be receiving an absentee application in the mail from the Genesee County Board of Elections. This allows voters to use “temporary illness” due to the COVID-19 pandemic to apply and mail in your application with a pre-paid envelope. 

After we receive your application, we will mail your ballot (or ballots in the case of some voters who will receive multiple ballots) out to you so that you will be able to vote safely.

Please note - under the modification of the Election Law governing absentee voting, when you apply for an absentee ballot for temporary illness due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is only applicable for the Primary and Special Election on June 23, 2020. Please mark the box temporary illness.

Department Description

The Constitution of the State of New York provides for the appointment of bipartisan Boards of Elections whose responsibility would include the duties of registering voters maintain voter registration records and conduct elections, administering the Election Law in a fair and honest manner.

Mission

The Board of Elections has as its goal the protection of the voting public in every aspect of their participation in the electoral process, from registration to their involvement as candidates, if that is their desire, to the final recording of their votes. The entire process involves the maintenance of all records accurately and completely, the explanation of the intricacies of the caucus and petition processes as well as campaign finance responsibilities.
