***Anyone needing to visit the Board of Elections, please use the main door off of Main Street unless you need access to the elevator then use the west side entrance.  Masks are required.***

Absentee Ballots may be returned in person to the Board of Elections at 15 Main St., Batavia, NY 14020.  A drop box will be available on the Ellicott St. (Rt 63) side of the building.  They may also be dropped off at our Early Voting site at County Building 2, 3837 W. Main St. Rd. during Early Voting hours.  Absentee ballots can also be dropped off at any poll site on November 3 from 6am-9pm.  Ballots can also be mailed back in the envelope provided when the ballot is received.

Department Description
The Constitution of the State of New York provides for the appointment of bipartisan Boards of Elections whose responsibility would include the duties of registering voters maintain voter registration records and conduct elections, administering the Election Law in a fair and honest manner.


The Board of Elections has as its goal the protection of the voting public in every aspect of their participation in the electoral process, from registration to their involvement as candidates, if that is their desire, to the final recording of their votes. The entire process involves the maintenance of all records accurately and completely, the explanation of the intricacies of the caucus and petition processes as well as campaign finance responsibilities.
